Instructor Bio:
Lisa Karrow, MPT, CLT-LANA is a certified Lymphedema therapist who has worked for Fairview for over 20 years. She obtained her Master of Physical Therapy from Mayo's School of Health-Related Sciences in Rochester, MN in 1993 and in 1997 earned her lymphedema certification. She became nationally certified through the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) in 2001. Lisa has completed advanced level Edema/Lymphedema and Cancer Rehab Courses and has lectured on Edema management and lymphedema to both the University of MN, St. Catherine’s Physical therapy programs, and Fairview Rehab services. She currently serves as an adjunct educator for Fairview's Pelvic Health Residency program in her specialties.

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Comprehend anatomy & physiology of the lymphatic/circulatory systems as they relate to both normal function as well as etiology of edema.
- Recognize and understand precautions and contraindications of edema management interventions.
- Develop critical thinking skills to apply appropriate edema management techniques in the inpatient settings.
- Recognize when and how edema management interventions and care plan should be modified.
- Identify when to refer a patient to Outpatient/Home Care Edema Services
- Criteria to consider in the inpatient edema assessment
